About the lecturer:

Euripides G. Stephanou is Professor of Environmental Chemistry at the University of Crete since 1993.

Education and career until 1993: Diploma in Chemical Engineering (University of Neuchatel, Switzerland, 1975), Master in Environmental Analytical Chemistry (University of Geneva, 1980), PhD in Organic Chemistry (University of Zürich, 1979), Research Associate at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich) - Institute for Water Resources & Water Pollution Control (EAWAG), University of Geneva - Department of Chemistry, Stanford University (USA) - Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

He has published more than 90 articles, which received > 3000 citations. Presently, his work concentrates mainly on chemistry of organic aerosols outdoors and indoors, atmospheric input and fate of petroleum derived hydrocarbons, POPs and emerging organic pollutants in the marine environment and on fate of organic compounds in drinking water and waste water during treatment and disinfection.
